Description of the research topic:
Climate change is expected to increase the frequency and intensity of precipitation and pluvial flood occurrences in urban areas of Central Europe. These precipitation events are hazardous for urban areas and for the citizens. The aims of this PhD program are (i) to predict the frequency of severe weather situations caused by the climate change, (ii) develop a modeling methodology to evaluate the runoff the urban environment and (iii) develop mitigation strategies to decrease flood risk in urban areas.
