Description of the research topic:
In supercritical fluid chromatography, the profound knowledge of the thermodynamics and kinetics of the retention process is of utmost importance, so that this environment friendy, less expensive separation technique can gain importance. More efficient and more ecomomical separation methods can be worked out if one can properly model the kinetics of mass transfer and thermodynamics. The use of pressurized carbon dixide as a mobile phase can eliminate or reduce the use of toxic solvents.
