Description of the research topic:
Sentence processing, executive function and memory. (Ágnes Lukács)
Language comprehension recruits numerous nonlinguistic abilities, but the specific role of these abilities in grammatical and semantic processing is not fully clear yet. We aim to examine how individual differences in memory and inhibition are related to individual differences in linguistic situations that require ambiguity resolution (e.g. in sentences containing homonyms, or in garden path sentences) or the mapping of distant elements (e.g. agreement or anaphor resolution).
