I worked in the Institute of Food Research UK, from 1990, from where I retired as Head of Research Group in 2016. I am now a scientific advisor at the Univ. of Debrecen. I was a Visiting Professor at the Imperial College, London, UK, between 2012 and 2019. In 2014, I received the Distinguished Service Award of the American Soc. of Microbiology. I supervised PhD students at the universities of Reading, East Anglia, Parma, and in Brazil. My citation index >7000, H-index: 41 (Scopus, 2022).
