A kutatási téma leírása:
The aim of this PhD project is to theoretically examine the complexities of somatic evolution and development of multicellular organisms by utilizing genome-scale sequence data through modeling and bioinformatics tools. The successful candidate will develop and numerically simulate mathematical models of the accumulation of somatic mutations in order to understand the mechanism of development. The first step of the research is to learn to handle sequence data (big data) available in the literature. Subsequently, the PhD student will analyze the genomic variations across different plant tissues and developmental stages using bioinformatics tools, providing insights into the stem cell level evolutionary processes. Following the initial studies on plants, the research may extend to animals or humans, applying similar methodologies to understand somatic evolution in more complex organisms.
