A kutatási téma leírása:
The aim of the research work is to develop multifunctional hybrid silica coatings that simultaneously show improved light transmittance, water repellent-, and anti-corrosion properties. Coatings will be deposited on different solid substrates by wet colloid chemical (e.g. sol-gel) methods. Thickness, porosity, and surface properties of coatings will be controlled by the composition of precursor suspensions, and the conditions of film deposition and post-treatment methods. The effect of composition, structure, and surface morphology on the optical, wetting, and corrosion resistance properties of the coatings will be investigated thoroughly. Investigation methods will include UV-Vis spectroscopy, scanning angle reflectometry, ellipsometry (light transmittance, thickness, refractive index), ellipsometric porosimetry (porosity, pore size distribution); field emission scanning electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (structure and morphology) methods. Surface properties will be studied by wettability measurements, anti-corrosion property of the samples will be investigated by electrochemical (e.g. Tafel plots, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy) methods.
