A kutatási téma leírása:
Inclusion complexes are known to be applicable either in pharmacology by packing drugs at molecular level or in the designing selective and sensitive tools for chemical sensing applications. Host-guest complexes of cavity shaped host molecules, like cyclodextins or cucurbiturils are already widely used in pharmacy or food chemistry. In addition to the property that the simplicity of molecular skeleton of calixarenes are associated with versatile complex formation ability towards several pharmacologically important bioactive molecules, calixarenes offers several possibilities for chemical modifications too. Accordingly, in this work the inclusion complexes of some non-toxic calixarene derivatives formed with PARP inhibitors, metronizadole, capsaicin, phototrexate or sofalcone will be investigated in detail with special emphasis on their solubility in a variety of molecular environment. Further to the common characterization methods (NMR, MS and IR), fluorescence methods (steady state and time-dependent PL studies, solvent relaxation), calorimetry (DSC and ITC), micro-Raman and theoretical molecular modelling are planned to be used to determine the strengths and formation kinetics of the inclusion complexes. In the final stage of the work design of electrochemical sensing layers is also can be part of the examinations.
