Inflammatory diseases of the pancreas are characterized by therapeutic difficulty, potential lethal outcome, and a high impact on health-care systems.
Organoids are three-dimensional cell culture systems derived from pluripotent stem cells or isolated organ progenitors that differentiate to form an organ-like tissue exhibiting multiple cell types that self-organize to form a structure not unlike the organ in vivo.
Through established collaborations with our industrial (Cellenion, Lyon, France) and academic (Mechtler, Vienna, Austria) partners, the current proposal aims to establish the proteome of pancreatic ductal organoids at the single cell level.
Based on the obtained organoid-derived single-cell proteome profiles, we will get a better understanding of the different cell types present in the organoid as well as the dynamic cell to cell interplay upon multiple pathologic inducers.
