Description of the research topic:

The first approach of the topic is through the different sectors of crop production, with a strong emphasis on sustainable practices in ornamental horticulture, fruit and vegetable production and viticulture. The other approach is livestock and related topics, including the viability of backyard farms, their importance in rural development, or support issues for large farms.
In addition to technological solutions, research will also cover the optimal use of labour, environmental principles, the application of precision agriculture principles, and organizational issues such as supply chain management, circular economy, organizational tasks.
Possible research directions:
- ecological and economical analysis of low-tech and high-tech options for crop and livestock production
- sustainability and economic analysis of supply chains
- the role of agro-ecosystems in rural development
