Description of the research topic:

The primary goal of the research is to understand and analyze three key areas within the context of animal protection: 1) Establishing effective, functioning, stable institutional systems in the animal protection sector that enable organizational responsibility and the implementation of effective measures for animal welfare and sustainability. This involves examining the structures, operations, financing, and management of animal protection organizations and institutions, as well as the associated challenges and opportunities. 2) Analyzing global challenges in animal protection, including exploring opportunities for sustainable supply chains and understanding the global implications of animal protection, as well as the impact of international legal frameworks and regulations. 3) Identifying and evaluating local best practices that contribute to sustainable animal protection and the development of integrated institutional systems. This includes engaging local communities, educational and awareness initiatives, and the role of volunteers and local businesses.
The research will likely require the combined use of various methods to strengthen each other. These may include literature reviews, analysis of global and local data, case studies, and in-depth interviews with relevant stakeholders, as well as participatory observation and surveys in the field. Comparative analysis will also play an important role in comparing different institutional solutions and best practices. Additionally, tracking and evaluating innovative initiatives and projects in sustainable animal protection can be an important methodological element of the research. The aim is to ensure that the methodologies are integrated and provide
an opportunity for a holistic approach to analyzing and improving the sustainability and effectiveness of animal protection.
Furthermore, it is important to emphasize the significant practical importance of the research, as the animal protection sector in several European countries, including Hungary, struggles with predictable financing and stability issues. Therefore, integrated and sustainable approaches are crucial for the development and efficiency of the sector.
