Description of the research topic:

Different schools of economics attach great importance to household savings. Savings can provide a source of investment. Many researchers have examined the factors that influence and motivate the size of savings to achieve economic equilibrium. The allocation of savings to different financial instruments affects the equilibrium of each financial submarket. The study of all these equilibria remains an important issue. The financing of the corporate sector and public finances may depend on it.
Demographic trends in developed countries raise the question of how pension, health and social security systems can be financed in the future. Many economists see the solution to this question in raising awareness of self-care. However, the question is whether the increase in funding needs in a shrinking economy and an ageing society can be met by encouraging long-term savings.
Extensive literature review and document analysis is needed to examine the above areas. The available data can be evaluated using traditional statistical analysis methods. Artificial intelligence tools can be included in the analysis to understand non-linear processes and make predictions. Agent-based simulations can be used to develop future scenarios.
Possible research directions:
- Analysis of the determinants of savings and wealth structure
- Investigating the sustainability of pension, health and social systems from the perspective of savings.
