Description of the research topic:

The main target areas of the research are: to explore the business models of micro, small and medium enterprises as well as innovation-driven enterprises, to examine their possible modifications, and to explore the awareness of the entrepreneurs in business model selection, creation and adoption. The research will include the assessment and analysis of entrepreneurial attitudes, knowledge and competences, using quantitative and qualitative methods. The applied business models must meet economic, environmental and social sustainability criteria. This will be influenced by the external environment (social, economic, natural and political-legal factors, competitive environment) and by the internal company characteristics and their possible changes (age of the company, its life cycle, main characteristics of owners and employees, elements of value production and distribution and their changes). The research will explore the perceptions of the managers of the surveyed company types or sectors about the probable impact of sustainable business models on their business processes, planning methods, competitiveness, profitability and their ability to react quickly to changes in the environment. In addition to looking at businesses in Hungary, the research also covers neighbouring countries.
