Description of the research topic:
The accuracy of machined parts can be examined from many points of view. In addition to dimensional and geometric accuracy, an important element of tolerancing is the quality of the surface. One aspect of this is the surface roughness, which depends on the nature and parameters of the production method and the properties of the material during the production of the product. Surface roughness is a complex property, and due to the inhomogeneity of technical surfaces, it is an important research area from the point of view of measurement, production and application.
The aim of the research is to examine the relationship between 2D and 3D surface roughness parameters in the case of different cutting processes (turning, different milling processes, grinding, EDM, etc.) in order to be able to determine the given process based on the combination of the parameters. Based on the machining method and parameters, the relationship between the individual parameters can be determined.
Another objective of the research is to determine the surface roughness and the machining process based on the image of the surface. The research must be carried out in the case of several different material qualities in order to examine the effect of the material. The model building can be solved using statistical analyzes and various artificial intelligence methods.
