Description of the research topic:
Intercalating fluorescent dyes are the key component in virus detection using PCR, CRISPR, CAS or LAMP
technique. In these processes, the intercalating fluorescent dyes insert into DNA chains during the process of
amplification, and its fluorescence intensity increases respectively. The aim of the research work is the
development of novel, ultra-sensitive intercalating dyes enables the design, synthesis characterization of efficiently
modulated systems, suitable for the detection viruses in subsequent bioimaging and molecular biological
techniques such as LAMP and PCR, etc. methods. Our aim is the development of nucleic acid stains with very low
mutagenicity compared to the ones used nowadays. The research work includes the study and development of
state-of-the-art synthetic transformations with a biological objective behind. Besides the target oriented synthetic
work the PhD studies also provide an opportunity to study the mechanistic aspects of applied transformations.
