Description of the research topic:
The research embraces the investigation of the ways in which minority groups considered as “other” in terms of ethnicity, class, religion or sexuality and their relation to the mainstream are dramatized by one or a couple of contemporary Anglophone playwrights and performance artists with a special focus on body politics and performing identity. Authors or artists to select from include Caryl Churchill, Deirdre Kinahan, Marina Carr, Amanda Coogan, David Greig and/or Nancy Harris, etc.
