Description of the research topic:
Morphological analysis of cellular elements involved in reproduction in pathological conditions
Nowadays' society is characterized by shift of having offspring at later maternal ages. Age is a major independent fertility factor for women, and because of other exacerbating factors such as gynecological, endocrine, metabolic and immunological disorders infertility reaching pandemic levels. These pathologies can decrease fertility by functional or anatomical modifications, and in many cases the functional changes also modify the morphological appearance. The perfect functions and interactions of cellular elements are essential for the proper process of reproduction. Appearance, structure, and behavior of gametes and other assistant cells has been widely investigated and serve as reference points. The aim of our investigations to reveal the directly or indirectly developed cellular morphological deviations in infertility with a visualization method in cases of pathological conditions and functional disorders.
