Description of the research topic:
The subject area includes traditional second language pragmatics topics, such as linguistic realizations of politeness/impoliteness, speech acts, ritualized language acts, interactional behavior and interactional competence in English as a foreign language (EFL) contexts. Possibilities for the development of pragmatic competence in the classroom and outside the classroom, development of age-appropriate interactional competence, and analysis of teaching materials or classroom practices.
