Description of the research topic:
Chronic inflammatory mechanisms int he lung are tightly linked to cancer development. One of the main lung cancer types is NSCLC that causes millions of deaths each year. The Wnt family of glyco-lipoproteins regulate several mechanisms important in carcinogenesis. Wnts and their role in NSCLC development will be studied on primary human lung resections and using molecular studies.
