Description of the research topic:
Personal health goals as well as the related evaluations, affective, cognitive and relational processes are important aspects of the achievement and maintenance of positive health. Goals are important parts of the relational functioning and are interrelated with the social ecological context. There are several research questions which have not been clarified by previous research and which can be further developed and elaborated by PhD students of the doctoral program. The following examples define potential broad topics of research:
1. The role of personal health goals in adolescence and emerging adulthood with regard to health preservation and health promotion.
2. The role of personal health goals in adolescence and emerging adulthood with regard to stress, crisis and illness experiences.
The elaboration of contextual and social ecological aspects as well as potential interventions is fundamental in both topics.
