Description of the research topic:
Motility, the capability to perform active movement, forms an essential part of all life processes. The driving force for motility is produced by motor enzymes that convert chemical energy into mechanical work. The proposed research will be centered on (i) myosins, a superfamily of motor enzymes that move along actin filaments to power cytokinesis, cellular movements and cell shape changes, or (ii) DNA helicases, enzymes that unwind DNA duplex structures to drive processes of genome maintenance and DNA recombination.
Required language skills: fluent English (at least B2) Further requirements: MSc degree
