Description of the research topic:
The presence of mutations and gene polymorphisms may be an important risk factor for the development of autoimmune diseases. The topic includes collection of samples of patients with a particular autoimmune disease. This procedure is followed by finding of high risk alleles and their effects on gene expression. Finally, we would like to know the role of those factors on modification of disease appearance, course of the disease and effectiveness of the therapy. The method used is primarily PCR.
