Description of the research topic:
Conventional cancer therapy has shown improved success rate in recent decades, however, it rarely results in permanent recovery and is often accompanied with serious side effects. Activation of the patients’immune system emerged as promising alternative to traditional chemotherapy. The goal of our research program is to 1) develop HCS (high-content screening) applications for studying the interaction of killer cells and macrophages with cancer cells; 2) determine the role of DNA damage signaling and nuclear NAD metabolism in immune-mediated cancer cell killing; 3) identify novel molecules with the potential to enhance efficacy of tumor immunotherapy.
