Description of the research topic:
Research goal is to present the process of seismic risk evaluation of a town; to integrate local site effects to seismic hazards; to examine the vulnerability of the built environment considering the existing infrastructure elements; and finally to combine the results and map risk scenarios to aid the mitigation process. Objectives can be: to refine the existing methods of visual inspection procedures and to increase their reliability. Another task is to simplify the empirical methods in order to reduce the working time required for the field survey. Another important aspect is the contribution of local subsoil effects to earthquake risk, their magnitude.
