Description of the research topic:

Improving the sustainability of agri-food systems is essential for world population growth, rapid urbanization, rural development, food and environmental security. One of the world's biggest global challenges is to provide a sustainable and secure food supply for a growing population especially in developing countries. Food is an essential component and global concern, directly related to poverty and inequality conditions in a society. The United Nations considers this aspect in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to be achieved by 2030, in the second one, to “end hunger, achieve food security and improve nutrition for all people”. Sustainability of agri-food systems, food and environmental security can be analyzed using econometric methods.
