Description of the research topic:
An emerging area of research in the field of business economics and international business is the study of business models and business model innovations. Prospective Ph.D. students will be involved in researching the company-level challenges and opportunities posed by digital transformation. Business model innovation involves a complex change that spans many areas of the company’s operations, affecting changes in the relationship with consumers, operations management, as well as the corporate organization. Within the wider research field, companies of the sharing economy, born-digital firms, international companies undergoing digital transformation, blockchain-based models, and companies aiming at social innovation are separate research areas. The most popular research methodology in the field is qualitative, but quantitative and mixed methodologies are also in use.
Required language skills: English Further requirements: A level of prior knowledge is required in the field of business models, digitization, and international business, as well as the ability to read and synthesize English-language literature. We will ask you to work effectively in a research team.
