Description of the research topic:
It has previously proved that 4-hydroxyquinoline-2-carboxylic acid (KYNA) is a neuroprotective agent. In frame of the previous researches in the Institute of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, the penetration of KYNA derivatives together with their solubility has been increased by insertion of different substituents on the KYNA skeleton. The potential in this research field is to investigate new KYNA derivatives by which the penetration might be further increased and at the same time their biological activity might also be improved
