Description of the research topic:
The climate change induced drying in pannonian mountain streams and lowland watercourses is a new stressor, to which stream-dwelling communities are responding with significant structural and functional changes. The aim of the doctoral topic is to understand the reactions of the communities (and selected taxa groups) of the previously permanent streams, to explore the influencing factors and to model the process. The work includes processing of previous sample series, collecting and processing new samples using traditional and molecular-based methods, supporting citizen science-type data collection, and some elements of statistical model assembly
