In vitro fertilisation (IVF), a Nobel Prize-winning medical method, has resulted in more than six million births worldwide. The religious and ethical aspects of IVF are a matter of debate. From 2020, Hungary will become the first country in the world where treatment will be free and clinics will be under state control, which is expected to have impact on demographics. Possible research topics include the status of embryos intended for freezing, challenges posed by the rapid development of human reproductive techniques, and the history of fombic treatment in Hungary.
