Description of the research topic:
Ancient Egypt and Syria-Palestine were linked by intense interactions, from conquests and trade to dynastic relations. The Egyptian influence is particularly evident in the material culture of the cities of Phoenicia and Syria, but is also clearly evident in wider areas of Western Asia. Doctoral research will have to examine these influences on specific groups of materials over a given period.
