Description of the research topic:
An objective assessment of physical activity and motor competence and its relation to cognitive function and mental state in Hungarian youth is lacking. This is especially important in view of the rampant use of social media, a lack of capacity to deliver 5 weekly classes of physical education, and other behavioral tendencies that promote sedentariness instead of physical activity. The health status of Hungarian youth thus requires a fresh and accurate assessment using a representative sample. The purpose of this study is to objectively determine the levels of physical activity, motor competence, and cognitive and mental state of Hungarian youth aged 6 to 18 years. Based on the data, the study will make recommendations and test these recommendations to increase physical activity and reduce sedentariness.
