Why the topic is important and new
For the long-term efficient operation of organizations, it is essential to be able to adapt to changing environments. The goal of sustainable organizational knowledge management is the effective use and preservation of organizational knowledge and acquired experience. Its IT tools and increasingly effective solutions can help a lot in the development and renewal of organizational knowledge management.
Research issues
Areas of sustainable organizational knowledge management that can be supported with IT tools:
- knowledge base systems that organizations should create so that all important information and knowledge are systematically available to all employees.
- Virtual environments supporting e-learning learning; organizations can more easily share knowledge and experience with employees with the help of online educational tools. Virtual learning environments allow employees to access educational materials anytime, anywhere, and learn the necessary knowledge according to their own schedule.
- group work tools, which enable employees to easily work together on specific projects and to share their knowledge and knowledge bases with each other. Group work tools help to optimize information flow and effective collaboration.
- Big data and analytics, which helps the processing and analysis of large amounts of data with analytical tools, so that organizations can better understand their own processes and their effects.
