Description of the research topic:
Panic disorder (PD) is a relatively common anxiety disorder with a life-time prevalence of 2-5%. It is well-known that the comorbidity between different psychiatric disorders is frequent and this rule is also applicable to PD that is frequently associated with other anxiety and mood disorders, such as major depressive and bipolar disorders. Affective temperaments may be considered as subclinical forms or precursors of mood disorders. The objective of our research is to reveal whether there are differences in the distribution of various affective temperaments when comparing the general population and a sample of PD patients.
