Description of the research topic:
Combating various tumor diseases is a major hurdle for both scientific and social community. Molecular complexity of cancer makes it hard to be defeated, therefore multimodal, multitargeted therapeutic approaches are required. In this project we intend to combine two novel, individually proven antitumor techniques in a single tool. Silver nanoparticles will be surrounded by lipid layers of specific antitumor activity capable of strongly inhibiting tumor invasion in vivo (in tissue). Goal of this project is to synthesize, characterize, then test the created nanoparticles in cellular and animal experiments. This project is a cooperation between SZTE and PTE supported by a highly interdisciplinary expert support. A chemist, pharmacist or biologist may be an ideal for this project, while site of research is flexible between the host institutes. Hosting at guest (free of choice) institute may be arranged.
