Description of the research topic:
The research focuses on the value-added utilisation of different agro-industrial lignocellulosic by-products in particular attention to the carbohydrate fraction. Fractionation method of the selected biomass by chemical and enzyme technology is one of the key steps to investigate and optimize. The obtained fractions will be converted into value-added chemicals and platform molecules through fermentation techniques and bioconversions. The experimental results will be used to build process models and accomplish techno-economic evaluations of different process scenarios by flow-sheeting software.
