Description of the research topic:
Microglial cell populations will be studied under different in vitro culturing conditions (primary, secondary and tertiary microglial subcultures). Morphological (transformation index) and functional changes (phenotype conversion, protein expression, histone modifications, phagocytosis, proliferation, motility, etc.) will be examined in relation to pro- and anti-inflammatory signals. Experiments will also be performed on the stability and reorganization of actin cytoskeleton.
