Description of the research topic:
The thesis explores foreign language teachers’ beliefs about learner autonomy in a Hungarian secondary vocational school. Data collected through classroom observation, questionnaires and interviews aim to uncover teachers’ underlying beliefs about autonomy in language learning, the sources of these beliefs, as well as the relationship between teacher cognition and pedagogical practice.
