Description of the research topic:
The Iberian World as an umbrella term includes the geographical space of Portugal, Spain and Latin-America with their specific structures of economy and social geography, their integrative organizations and civilizations. Their specific problems of political geography, their positions, historical characteristic features, their rules in the international relationship can be analyzed by three geopolitical axes. The definition Geography is the key discipline to History told by Mackinder emphasizes the possibility to analyze the geopolitical changes and the experiments aimed at modernization taking place in Portugal, Spain situated in the Mediterranean area, Europe, EU and in Latin-America which is in strategic partnership with the above-mentioned countries.
