Description of the research topic:
Nowadays, the issue of residues has become the focus of research. Currently used water and
wastewater treatment technologies have little ability to remove micronutrient contaminants from
water. The aim of the research is to propose a cost-effective removal method suitable for the removal
of the indicated groups of compounds using membrane techniques and / or adsorption. By analyzing
the life cycle of the process, the return on technology can also be largely substantiated.
Tasks of the PhD student:
- getting acquainted with the literature related to the topic (in English and Hungarian)
- selection of the tested compound group (s), development of related analytical methods
- selection of membranes, adsorbents and investigation of their applicability
- proposing an applicable technology line, followed by a life cycle analysis
