Description of the research topic:
Cloud Computing offers on-demand access to computational, infrastructure and data resources operated from a remote source, while Fog Computing enhances these services by reducing latency and strengthening privacy. In the current worldwide ICT scenario a constantly growing number of powerful devices join the Internet, significantly impacting on the global traffic volume and foreshadowing a world of smart devices, composing Internet of Things systems.
The aim of this research topic is to study the behavior of IoT applications and to apply their model in simulated environments to enable the analysis of efficient and secure management strategies of IoT applications by performing fundamental research in the area of Fog and Cloud Computing and the Internet of Things.
