Description of the research topic:
The most important issues of modern history of economics concern modernization, economic growth, prosperity and the occurence of crisis cycles. In these macroeconomic processes microeconomic actors have an important role to play, such as corporate activity in economic and historical space and time. We examine the economic activity of corporations studied in international context in appropriate time slices and economic systems. We also take a particular interest in the less tangible aspects of economic activity such as the intellectual and cultural capital and wealth that corporations have accummulated in their historical setting which has also shaped their behavior.
