Description of the research topic:
Reward deficiency syndrome hypothesis describes symptoms related to the hypo-functioning of the rewarding mechanism of the central nervous system, involving the vulnerability for addictive and other impulsive behaviours. Studies to date have mostly approached the phenomenon from a neurobiological and genetic perspective while the present topic aims at revealing and identifying the psychological aspects of the phenomenon.
